Review: Almay Smart Shade Face Primer

Hello everybody  I know it has been a while and I know have not been updating quite frequently, but I am happy to say I am going to post more often now. If you have not noticed, but I changed my blog design. It is very chic, colorful, and I think I did a good job.

Today I will be reviewing the Almay Smart Shade Primer and sad to say there aren't any reviews on this product from blogs or YouTube. Though whenever I search for drugstore face primers this and the L'Oreal Magic Souffle always show up. Anyways, I bought it from Ulta for $12.99.

Managing your 'About Me' and 'FAQ' pages (BSB #1)

Hello Loves
I always get emails from people on how I get followers, a good blog design, and any tips I can give them. So, that is why I am starting a new series called BSB or Becoming a Successful Blogger. I will do a post like this and expect it to be up every Tuesday, hopefully.  I am going to be answering your questions (comment below), including html/css guidance ( blog design ), and what ever you have questions on. I am not going to write small posts, but full articles because this is something I really enjoy talking about.

First topic is going to be the 'About Me' page, every blog should have one! I really enjoy learning more about other bloggers, in a not stalker sort of way. I consider my 'About Me' page an okay page, not an ideal page. I have not gotten around to fixing it. I talk as if I am a twelve year old in my about me page, which I need to change because I have changed. WE ALL CHANGE OVER TIME!

Instead of doing do's and don'ts, I just thought to put stuff I would have and would not have in your whole 'About Me' theme we are working with and what I suggest.

First person is the best person
I can't tell you how much I cringe/hate when an about me page is written in 3rd person. It just defeats the purpose of an 'About Me,' page on a blog. Blog is a Web Log, Log=Journal, Web Journal.

First Person: I am happy, and I enjoy eating BBQ
Third Person: Laila is happy, she enjoys eating BBQ

I want to get to know you on a personal level, not a wikipedia page. A blog is written by you and no one else (guest posts exceptions), so do your 'About Me' page as one too.  If you have accomplishments just list them and be proud ( 'I am ugly and I am proud," remember that).

FAQ vs About Me
Well, FAQ and About Me are very similar because they are just telling more about the blog or yourself.  FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions ( which means exactly what says). I write my about me page and then I have no intention of really updating it for a year ( at most ).  In an 'About Me' I write what I like and how my blog became to be. FAQ are just questions people ask you all the time to just clarify. If you get what I mean. Some people prefer to put both in one post: either a FAQ or About Me page. The gist of this article is you should have both somewhere!

Okay, I have no clue why I though this picture was best to use. Maybe becox Coke vs Pepsi  =

You should questions for yourself to answer, it might sound narcissistic, but it will help in the long run.

Now it is now mystery that I can't show my face on blog because I just don't feel comfortable about it. Camera quality is important as well, you do not need the best, but pixelated  or blury. Also have fun with Photoshop, Gimp, or whatever. If you always make new make-up looks and post it your blog, you should have a picture of just your face in your natural make-up.

Sidebar Snippet
Most blogs you visit will have a little picture of them with a few sentences about themselves. This is a really good thing to put in your blog. It will make your viewer want to learn more about you. I can help you make one because I am a nice person before my blog designing service starts up, but it is very easy to create one for yourself.

What to put in your 'About Me' page
First off, put your name or alias, your age, and your birthday. Then stuff you like and why you created this blog. The more original the page is and the better it makes the blog. Whatever you like and you feel you want to tell people then put it in.

Be honest with yourself, no one knows you better than yourself. Don't write something, just because someone else writes it. Then one day your favorite blogger will see it and instantly love you. Be true to yourself!

Comment any suggestions or question you would want me to answer in the next BSB. Otherwise make sure you follow my bloglovin' and like my facebook page

Colors of the Rainbow Tag

Hello friends ♡  Today I  will (obivously) doing the Colors of the Rainbow Tag. I learned about this tag from Ingrid (missglamorazzi) and I was not really pushed to do it until I watched MakeupbyNisha do it.   I was having a hard time doing this tag because I kept on losing my pink product -_- I finally found something I would use and I like. To think pink was the hardest color to find :)

For red I chose Clinique's Long Last Lipstick in 'Party Red.' I love this lipsrick so much becuase of its creamy formula and blue hue to make it look like I have whiter teeth. This lipstick is very pigmented and can be removed to leave a nice stain. I love this lipstick to create lip gradients. Too cute :~)

I was kind of cheating with color because I really didn't have anything to use that was directly orange. So, instead I used a coral color. This is NYX's Lips Smacking Fun Colors in 'Vitamin'. This lipstick color has a very bright sheen. To bright to be used by itself, so that is why I love to use it as a highlighter for any lip color. Just dap it in the center for a sheen.

I am such a little cheater instead of a yellow, I choose a gold. Before I was really into what the difference is between quality and not quality makeup. I used to use Forever 21 Golden Tones Palette for an everyday eye look. I could two looks with the two columns and even more if I was daring enough. The quality is not bad at all! I really like it, but the mattes could be better.

Well the product is not exactly green, but the packaging is green, I guess. Well, I'll let you know my favorite mascara is the Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara. My lashes are pretty strong and can hold a curl. So, the gel formula and brush helps volumize my lashes and evenly comb through.

For blue, I am in love with the CO Bigelow ' My Favorite Night Balm' that I got from from Bath and Body Works.  It really moisturizes my lips and it is night balm.  It doesn't sit on my lips and make it seem its moisturizes my lips, but really moisturizes my lips

Surprise, suprise, I cheated again! I did not chose an indigo color, but a blue color. I chose the L'oreal Hip duo in 'Forgiving.' Not the brown color (which is a love), but the blue color which I am in love with. It is so highly pigmented and such a fantastic pressed pigment.

For violet, I chose the Precious Mineral BB Cream from Etude House in '#2.' This my favorite bb cream because it protects and is very light. Whenever I mix it with foundation, it effortlessly oxidizes to the correct color. It also helps my acne a bit.

For pink, I chose the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 'Sweet Tart.'  This seems like the only pink lip color I can confidently wear. Very creamy, but I don't really see it moisturizing properties:/ The color makes up for it though.

For multicolored products, I chose my Clairsonic Plus because it has really helped my skin. Plus it has a bunch of pretty designs on it. It really has stopped my acne from coming back in groups. My skin keeps getting better and better with this lovely product.

Beauty Blogger Tag: Guest Post

Hello Lovelies, this is Laila, today I have a very special guest doing a guest post. Her name is Maja from Majotron. I am going to let her introduce herself in a bit, but I just want to tell you I will guest posting on her blog as well. I will be doing the same exact tag on her blog, so check that out.

Hey guys! Its MajotronToday I will do the Beauty blogger Tag, as I thought it would be perfect to do a tag whilst guest starring on Lailas blog!

The Beauty Blogger Tag

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Straight and wavy

2. What is your natural hair color?
Brown/ dirty blonde

3. Do you wear the same style every day or do you change it?
My style is fairly consistent with an edge. I never look the same.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do my own. It's nice to go to the salon and have someone else do your nails, but I like doing it myself.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
As often as needed really, I always change the color.

6. Do you polish your toes in winter or just in the summer?
All year long! I love pretty polish on my toes.

7. How long does it take for you to put on your make-up?
Depends on if I'm in a rush or if I can do it at a leisurely pace (which I prefer), and also if my skin is okay or has issues. I'd say 20 minutes on average.

8. What do you do first, face or eyes?

9. Do you collect make-up or just buy what you need when you need it?
I buy as I need in order to build a collection.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I mostly don’t, when I curl my eyelashes and add a couple layers of mascara my eye lashes don’t need false enhancing.

11. Do you do a full face of make-up every day?
I mostly don’t or at least try not to everyday

12. Do you wear make-up when you are home alone or with family?
When I'm home alone I usually don't have makeup on (unless I'm experimenting or already had it on for the day). I usually don't have makeup on if I'm home with my immediate family, but will if extended family is visiting.

14. Will you leave the house without make-up?
I will in an emergency, But overall, I don’t really mind going out without makeup but I will always have a moisturiser on.

We should all thank Laila for the opportunity of me featuring on her blog!

Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

Where to buand how much? | LINK
I bought this foundation like two winters ago for $7-8 dollars from Target. I had returned another foundation which was terrible, I don't remember what it was. This item can be found in any drugstore.

What is the texture?
It is definitely a mousse, but not whipped. I though it was going to be creamier like the picture depicted on the Maybelline website. They probably changed the formula.

Not a liquid, but a solid...WOW! It has a pretty dry feeling when I mix it with my fingers. Also, pretty thick and absolutely not runny at all.

When applied matte, after a bit still matte. Very matte, a little too matte in this case. It gives off a cakey finish and it not a like.

For the pores next to my nose and nicely concealed, and so are the pores on my nose. Though I see my nose gets clogged easier with any foundation I use, but that is just me. So basically, pores are covered quite well.

Acne and Skin problems?
I do not know about you, but I have combination skin ( more on the drier side ). When matte foundation mixes with dry skin there is disaster.....which happened to me. The product emphasized dry skin and hardly covered my acne. More suited for oily skin with not much acne.

Lasting power?
Did not last very long, only an hour or two with out power. If I were to add power my face would be a cakey mess.

Overall: 2/5

This product did deliver a matte finish and the coverage of my smooth acne was good. My pores were not very visible. I was disappointed in the cakey finish and lasting power. I will not repurchase.
